The rainbow trout is a trout and species of salmonid native to cold-water tributaries of the Pacific Ocean in Asia and North America.
It was introduced in Bhutan by Gongzim Sonam Tobgye Dorji in early 1940’s at Haa fishery (Hatchery) Government facility. It has already became native fish of the locality (Haa, Paro, Bumthang, Gong (Parts of Black mountain), Thimphu, Sha and other cold places)
Rainbow Trout (Natural Delicacy) is supplied by Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation Limited and Origin from Haa.
